2nd Aikido Friendship Demostration DVD 2

The second DVD in a series of digital masterings of one of the most thrilling aikido exhibitions ever held. Part two includes Gozo Shioda and Minoru Mochizuki’s lecture demonstrations from the 2nd Aikido Friendship Demonstration in Tokyo in 1986.

Gozo Shioda was a prewar pupil of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. In the early 1950s, he founded the Yoshinkan Aikido organization, which considerably aided aikido’s early popularity. Shioda, the author of several aikido books and DVDs, is recognized as one of the most influential personalities in aikido history.

Minoru Mochizuki, a judo practitioner, was another of Morihei Ueshiba’s prewar classmates. Judo Founder Jigoro Kano sent Mochizuki to Ueshiba’s school to acquire Morihei’s outstanding jujutsu techniques. Following WWII, Mochizuki founded Yoseikan Budo, an eclectic martial style, and is credited with introducing aikido to France.

Each instructive and motivating presentation focuses on the most significant components of each teacher’s interpretation of their craft.
