He was one of the first 10 coaches in USA wrestling to receive Gold Coach Certified, the highest level of accreditation. He was also the World Freestyle Champion, National Freestyle and Greco Roman Champion, Olympic Trials Champion, and Division 1 NCAA All American. Bob also developed the Junior Elite Training Systems, which is geared to developing strong wrestlers and citizens. He coached 12 National Team Championships for his Junior Elite pupils.
