Born Strong tells the story of four of the world’s strongest men. Every year, the Arnold Strongman Classic awards the victor of the world’s purest test of strength. Each of this year’s Arnolds weighs more over 400 pounds, making them one-of-a-kind. Zydrunas Savickas, 40, of Lithuania, is the recognised Strongest Man Ever, albeit he may have passed his peak. The reigning champion is American Brian Shaw, a 6’8′, 425-pound monster who appears prepared to win the title. Eddie Hall of England is “the ravenous wolf” banging on the door. “I’m willing to do anything,” he says. “I’ll die if necessary.” Finally, Icelander Hafthor Bjornsson, who plays the Mountain on Game of Thrones, is on the list. He is the youngest of the bunch, yet he has the most promise. “It’s fantastic to witness these Monsters,” says Arnold Schwarzenegger, the competition’s presenter and a former bodybuilding champion. Born Strong revels in the drama that ensues when two extraordinary titans collide. Only one will emerge victorious.
