David James – Vee Arnis Jitsu Concepts Part 1

What exactly is Vee Arnis Jitsu? Vee Arnis is a multifaceted fighting method.
Vee Jitsu, Arnis, and Muay Thai boxing are its main components.
It also contains aspects of other Filipino martial arts, such as Kuntaw, Chinese Kung fu, and Japanese Aikido, to a lesser extent.
Jiu Jitsu

Vee Jitsu is the art’s basis.
It combines Judo/Jiu Jitsu’s joint locks, breaks, throws, and ground maneuvers with the violent, “no-holds-barred” style of conventional street fighting.
During a fight, “dirty” methods like groin kicks, biting, and eye gouging are frequently used.
Professor Vee designed a set of fifteen two-person short forms termed “Vee Jitsu Te’s” to further strengthen and improve the method.
These allow the pupil to successfully respond to a range of attack circumstances by employing a sequence of successive defensive movements.
Students are extensively trained in class and partnered with people of all shapes and sizes to prepare them for the realities of street encounters.
In this manner, an individual may test several strategies to see if they perform well against larger or smaller opponents in a specific setting.

The second key component of Vee Arnis Jitsu is the formidable weaponry and empty-hand martial art of Arnis.
The famed “Cinco Tero” combat pattern originates here.
Arnis inspired several Vee Arnis Jitsu methods, including the “fifteen dimensions” and “patterns-of-twelve” drills.
Students practice these skills with various stepping variants.
Paqua circular footwork, forward and backward motion, and the “V-stepping” pattern are among the most significant.
A variety of training activities, including “Sinawali” drills, are also included in the curriculum.
Knife fighting is another important aspect of weapons training.
Students acquire speed and mobility by emphasizing quick continuous repetition of the “Cinco Tero” and other striking drills.
