Eddie Chong – Wing Chun Vol.3 Part 1
Part 1 of Vol.3 – Eight Cutting Daggers and a Six and a Half Point Staff Sifu Eddie began his Wing Chun study in 1968, which led him on a journey that required him to commit nearly 30 years of his life to Kung Fu. His Yip Man Wing Chun lineage may be traced down to Leung Sheung, Yip Man’s first and most treasured disciple. Sifu Chong came to Fushan to deepen his grasp of Kung Fu fundamentals (Canton, Mainland China). He was accepted as the final pupil and heir by Grandmaster Pan Nam, a direct descendent of Shaolin Kung Fu. Former President Mao Zedong recognized and honored Pan Nam as the first Wing Chun Grandmaster. Sifu Chong was introduced to the Bak Mei (White Eyebrow) style of Kung Fu on later travels to Fushan, which further increased his knowledge of the combat principles that characterize true self-defense. Sifu Eddie, as he is affectionately known, is well-known for his eagerness to impart the techniques and training methods that distinguish both Wing Chun and Bak Mei. He has been featured in a number of martial arts publications, including Black Belt Magazine (May 1992) and Inside Kung Fu (September 1985, December 1988, and a two-part feature in July and August 1993). Sifu Chong was included in “Complete Wing Chun” by authors Robert Chu, Rene Ritchie, and Y.Wu (Tuttle Publishing).
