IDFS – F.I.G.H.T.-Tactical Knife Fighting
Overview of the System: History The Fierce Israeli Guerilla Hand-to-Hand Tactics (F.I.G.H.T.) training is proudly presented by Integrated Defensive Fighting Systems, Inc. (IDFS).
The F.I.G.H.T. curriculum employs Haganah, the most effective self-defense system accessible today.
The Hebrew term for “defense” is Haganah. The Haganah self-defense system is a comprehensive Israeli combative approach based on Israeli martial arts as well as Israeli military tactics utilized by Israeli Special Forces agents in dangerous situations.
The Haganah system (and its components) arose from the necessity for a state (or individual) with a disadvantage, such as size or degree of weapons, to beat a foe with an advantage.
Israel (which is smaller than most states in the United States) has been under ongoing military and terrorist threat since its proclamation of statehood in 1948.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) is widely regarded as one of the greatest armies in the world today due to its continual involvement in many forms of conflict and ability to beat considerably bigger opponents.
Due to their significant hands-on combat experience, IDF Special Forces troops are recognized as the best in the world.
The tactics used in the system have been tested in severe hand-to-hand fighting scenarios in Israel and have been carefully tailored for street self-defense.
The Haganah system is not your average Martial Art; it is the future of hand-to-hand combat and street fighting techniques.
It employs both unarmed and armed combat tactics.
One of the most essential aspects of the Haganah method is that it is constantly improved, unlike many conventional martial arts schools.
Based on its daily battle experience, the IDF modifies its hand-to-hand and other fighting skills on a regular basis.
After adjusting them for citizens and law enforcement personnel, Haganah incorporates such changes.
Furthermore, we are always reviewing different procedures, such as those employed by the US Special Forces, in order to include any of their tactics that will boost the system.
The Haganah method is devoid of ego.
It employs the best self-defense and fighting techniques available.
The F.I.G.H.T. program includes the Haganah system’s hand-to-hand and empty hand weapons defensive components.
Principles
1. Try not to get struck.
Techniques will always include an aspect that reduces the likelihood of you getting hit, particularly in your susceptible places.
2.Be unpretentious.
Techniques are straightforward and do not interfere with natural or intuitive bodily motions.
3.Defend yourself as quickly, safely, and effectively as possible.
Most methods incorporate both defensive and offensive features aimed to protect you while inflicting maximum damage on your opponent in order to fast finish the battle.
4.Take advantage of your opponent’s susceptible and weak places.
Techniques are meant to take advantage of the numerous other, less evident weak areas in the human body.
5.Do not rely on your strength.
Techniques are meant to reduce your effort, allowing you to work efficiently even if you are smaller, weaker, or in a different posture.
6.Make use of any accessible things as weapons.
The approach is intended to teach you how to utilize improvised and common weapons efficiently.
7.If compelled to fight, there are no rules and no restrictions.
If diplomacy fails, there will be no hesitancy or holding back.

Training Method
Unlike many other systems that teach a belt level curriculum, adding techniques based on the student’s rank level and seniority, Haganah educates its practitioners in a military version/format.
We began by carefully selecting two sets of the 18 most prevalent street assault scenarios to start from.
The first set of 18 counterattacks consists of empty hand methods for dealing with unarmed attackers, while the second set of 18 counterattacks consists of armed threat self-defense techniques for dealing with knife treatments and gunpoint assaults.
Training is place concurrently in a three-month rotation arrangement.
This strategy has shown to be highly effective as a tool for fast teaching people to be able to deploy the Haganah system in combative circumstances after only three months of training.
During that period, our practitioners are exposed to the complete core system.
They have learnt and been schooled on topics that would have been considered advanced in other, more traditionally organized systems.
They can then begin training in the Haganah’s armed self-defense components.
We adapt the Israeli military KAPAP/LOTAR training methodology to the two sets of self-defense methods to complement this speed of instruction.
KAPAP is the Hebrew acronym for “Face to Face Combat,” also known as “Hand to Hand Combat” in the United States.
LOTAR is an acronym for the Hebrew terms Lochama and Terror, which translate as anti-terrorism battle.
KAPAP is the Israeli military’s training system that transforms ordinary citizens (all Israelis serve in the military for three years) into proficient combatants ready to participate in life-or-death battles in a matter of months.
The LOTAR system is used to train Israeli Special Forces in sophisticated tactics.
These training methods, as well as specific tactical components of these two systems, are used by Haganah.
By restricting the number of battle methods, learning time is expedited, and depth of comprehension and skill levels are raised.
Our practitioners learn to respond rapidly to attacks and, if necessary, improvise to reach these few points of reference.
Once this is accomplished, our practitioners are quite secure and comfortable that, while the engagement is not done, it is theirs to win.
