Jin Yi Ming – Lian Gong Mi Jue – Secret Methods of Acquiring External and Internal Mastery

Jin Yi Ming – Lian Gong Mi Jue – Internal and External Mastery Secret Methods Jin Yi Ming and Guo Cui Ya wrote the novel.
The book’s first edition was published in August of 1930.
The book was printed in Shanghai by the House Hua Lian.
The book discusses “External” (WAI GONG) and “Internal” (NEI GONG) training techniques used by traditional “Shaolin Family” schools (SHAOLIN PAI).
Special exercises aimed at attaining “Internal Mastery” (GONG FU) are one of the most significant aspects of Shaolin monks training today, as they were in the past.
Those exercises are at the heart of Shaolin martial training, and they are the key to attaining ultimate mastery.
According to an old adage, “if you merely practice the technique (style) but overlook specific instruction, you will remain a nobody till your old age.” “Special training” refers to activities that focus on building both WAI ZHUANG – “External Power” – and NEI ZHUANG – “Internal Power.”
These exercises (training processes) are grouped together under the umbrella term LIAN GONG, which translates as “Exercising to Acquire Mastery.”
In his preface, the author writes: “…It is not idle talk to say that “Strength cannot defeat the Pugilistic Art (Quan Shu), and the Pugilistic Art cannot defeat Internal Mastery (Gong Fu).”
People believe that practicing the Pugilistic Art (Quan Shu) is sufficient, but few realize that the Pugilistic Art cannot withstand the Internal Mastery (Gong Fu), since the Pugilistic Art is a sprout of Gong Fu, and Gong Fu is the basis and root of the Pugilistic Art.
Some folks solely practice Gong Fu and do not practice Quan Shu.
But no one had heard that Quan Shu may be practiced without Gong Fu.
Such “mastery” is like flying fluff or floating duckweed – it has a shaky foundation.
Only by doing both Gong Fu and Quan Shu can there be a firm foundation and high Mastery.”
The first section of the book contains exercises from the section “External exercising” (WAI GONG) targeted at developing “External Power” (WAI ZHUANG).
It has exercises for cultivating “Hardness” (YING GONG), “Lightness” (QING GONG), and “Flexibility” (ROU GONG).
The second section of the book is concerned with the development of “Internal Power” (NEI ZHUANG): a description of massage according to the technique NEI ZHUANG XING GONG, the method “Rinsing marrow” XI SUI, and certain pharmacological formulations to boost the level of “internal power” are provided.
Without a doubt, the book will be valuable for serious practitioners of ancient Chinese Martial Arts who want to achieve true mastery.
