John Pellegrini – Combat Hapkido Vol.2 Wrist techniques
Combat Hapkido (Vols. 1-4) by John Pellegrini – There is no manual.
VHS is NOT a high-quality format.
Combat Hapkido (Chon-Tu Kwan Hapkido in Korean) is an eclectic contemporary Hapkido style developed in 1990 by John Pellegrini, the school’s grandmaster who has a 9th degree black belt.
Pellegrini established the International Combat Hapkido Federation (ICHF) as the sport’s official regulatory organization in 1992.
In 1999, the Korea Kido Association and the World Kido Federation, jointly known as the Kido Hae, acknowledged the ICHF as a hapkido style.
Chon Tu Kwon Hapkido is the Korean name for the style.
The Korean government recognizes the World Kido Federation as an organization that acts as a link between Korea’s official martial arts regulatory body and the rest of the world’s martial arts community.
Combat Hapkido’s creator said unequivocally that he did not create a new martial art.
“I have simply organized a new Self-Defense system based on good scientific foundations and current conceptions,” he explained.
As a result, Combat Hapkido is also known as the “Science of Self-Defense.” Combat Hapkido is a fresh take on and application of a subset of Hapkido skills.
Combat Hapkido was given the title “Combat” to distinguish it from Traditional Hapkido forms and to highlight its focus as Self-Defense.
