Kali Sikaran Street Fighting Vol.1
Street Fighting by Kali Sikaran (Volume 1) Kali Sikaran is a Filipino martial arts system developed by Jeff Espinous and Johan, and it is one of the International Kali Arnis Eskrima Federation’s core styles. Kali art has its origins in ancient Filipino history, stretching back to before the Majapahit Empire ruled South East Asia in the 5th and 6th centuries. During the Spaniards’ attempts to capture the islands, the art was utilized against them. The great Ferdinand Magellan was beaten by the national hero and ancestor of today’s arts, Lapu Lapu. Punong Guro Jeff Espinous and Punong Johan Skalberg created and launched the International Kali Sikaran Association. Kali Sikaran has its origins in Philippine and Southeast Asian martial arts. Kali Sikaran’s training ideas are unique to the method. Panantukan (Filipino Boxing), Sikaran (Filipino Kick Boxing), Stickfighting, Daga (Knife Fighting Training), Kadena De Mano (Close Quarters Range), and Dumog are the foundations for them (Grappling). These ideas are weaved together in Kali Sikaran to form a full and very effective combat method. Any enhancement to one component of the system will hasten change and quickly benefit another. The practitioner will acquire speed, coordination, stamina, strength, and reflexes that support self-defense and combat abilities via a combination of empty hand training and weapons training. The Kali Sikaran practitioner has been educated to adapt to every scenario. Language-English
