Leo T Gaje Jr and Dan Insanto- Surviving Edged Weapons (Police Training)

The Grand Tuhon Surviving Edged Weapons Police Training by Leo T Gaje Jr and Dan InsantoIntended for Law Enforcement Only That will be overlooked…
This was created as a police training curriculum in the late 1980s.
It is difficult to find in public these days.
I have the DVD (which was converted from VHS to DVD by the firm) and have ripped it.
If you don’t know who Leo T Gaje Jr and Dan Insanto are, look them up on Google! They are the genuine thing when it comes to marital arts.
Just so you know, they were the tape’s counselors.
Their total screen time is around five minutes out of the whole 90-minute video.
To demonstrate the realism of a knife assault, Insanto owns five officers in a row (one on one) with a rapid draw knife attack.
That is classic television viewing.
The majority of the footage features officers and actors.
Interviews and recreations make for some fascinating watching regarding ‘knife culture’.
This tape has excellent production quality.
Remember that this is from the late 1980s, and disregard some of the practical effects as inferior to contemporary CGI Hollywood, and I think you’ll agree.
I’m sharing this since it has some interesting watching.
This video displays authentic jail footage (taken with a telescopic lens) of conmen learning how to murder with shanks.
This presentation includes several images of actual knife fatalities as well as the circumstances that led up to the killings.
It interviews officers who have been messed up by edged weapons in the line of duty, among other things.
It’s time to wake up!
This describes the BS strategies used to cope with blades that do not operate.
It provides some but is not as extensive as other courses now available on the market.
Nonetheless, it was produced in the 1980s and has a lot of value to give.
Oh, and some LOLz- Satan and his disciples were a “major menace” in the 1980s (evil heavy metal types), as shown in one scene that appears old and amusing to current viewers.
This is designed for cops, and as such, it falls short in many ways.
I, and you, do not have to fight knife-wielding evil men.
We don’t need to arrest anybody, and we don’t have the equipment of a cop’s utility belt.
Still, advice on how to stay calm after being fired, how to seek therapy, and so on (substitute a mobile phone for a cop radio and it works) is valuable to any viewer.
Many typical knife combat mistakes and misconceptions are also addressed.
Even though tasers are widely used, there is a reason cops still shoot dead people who threaten them with swords! When you use a knife, you get a sense of how vicious it is.
Lines like “Our liberal (USA) courts look less harshly as knife attacks than assaults done with a fire arm” and “the media portrays EDPs (emotionally disturbed persons = cop code for mentally ill) as harmless, but in fact they account for half of all officer involved fatalities” make for a very different view experience! If you’re like knife combat, you should watch this.
It’s a straightforward look at what stabbing and cutting can achieve.
There are SO many different sorts of blades… it’s like a catalog! The argument about grasping someone’s weapon hand by the wrist rather than the arm is correct- but incomplete.
Any BJJ/JJ practitioner knows that the triceps hold is weak, the elbow is better, the forearm is much better, the wrist is extremely excellent, and the finger is the greatest way to secure someone in a lock (if they have a weapon, go to the wrist).
Still, it is not the entire picture, and this DVD does not go into further detail.
Anyway, go to Amazon and check how much this is going for! Yikes! It’s good, but not worth the price…
When it appears on eBay, it is also roughly that much…
If you can be trusted, get it here! Enjoy!
