Novascrimia – Nova Scrimia Vol 1

Fencing is, as the ancient medieval Masters put it, the art of battle in armis et sans armis (with weapons and empty hands), and its history can be traced back seven centuries, nearly since the start of time. To practice Fencing is to master a Martial Art with specific goals connected to conflict and life preservation.

Today, Fencing, its historical and martial heritage, as well as the technical wealth of the traditional Italian warrior, are preserved through Nova Scrimia, a contemporary vision of the art of combat with arms and empty hands that combines the authentic Italian martial tradition with a path open to the martial practitioner of today.

The Nova Scrimia group outlines the structure, underlying space-time ideas, and methods that govern this art in this project. We will look at exercises, technique combinations, and self-defense applications using a one-handed baton, two-handed baton, cane, empty hands, sword, and dagger. This is an essential film for understanding the legacy of the ancient Masters and its progression.
