The “Supra State” is a quote. This is a combative psychology paradigm in which the practitioner intentionally strives to construct an alter-ego that is better capable of dealing with violence and conflict than the practitioner’s usual personality.
Actually, this isn’t that unlike to another sports psychology method in which the practitioner imagines “becoming” or “stepping into” someone who possesses all of the necessary skills and resources to perform successfully.
This is frequently a hero or mentor in that field of competence, a form of role model.
For example, a golfer who idolizes Tiger Woods might vividly envision himself standing behind him, experiencing all of his experience, talent, and resources, then “stepping into” his role model’s body and playing with that degree of confidence, competence, and so on.

Why is this required?
Because the practitioner’s primary personality is NOT capable of coping with violence properly.
How do we know this?
If it were, they wouldn’t be looking for training to help them transcend the constraints of their dominant personality.
Obviously, not everyone realizes or is consciously aware that this is why they seek training, nor do they conceptualize it in that manner, but I believe that this is the fundamental reason of the desire to train.
It’s not so much that the person is afraid of violence as it is that their social masks prepare them to be weak in the face of danger.
But it is not our natural state; we have had it instilled in us.
We are inherently powerful, robust beings that live on conflict and struggle.
Not cows looking for comfort.
We did not reach the top of the food chain by being anything other than the most predatory, strong, and clever animal on the planet.
